:::A Trip to the Moon (1902):::
This 1902 black and white silent film is considered to be one of the very first Science Fiction movies, loosely based on two popular novels of the time: From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne and The First Men in the Moon by H. G. Wells. It was written and directed by Georges Méliès.
This is a wonderful historical treasure, made with care and skill by one of the masters of early motion pictures. It is also entertaining to watch, in addition to its historical value, since it is loaded with creative ideas both in the story and in the way it was made. Two music videos are based entirely on and filmed similarly to Le Voyage dans la Lune; Queen's Heaven for Everyone, and the award-winning video for the Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight.

yes, truely a masterpiece…funny though, they intended to show a glimpse into the future, but instead they left us a gateway to the past…
